THE STORY

01 — Why this book exists

This book was written to raise awareness about the position of black men in America and to address the negative stereotypes surrounding them. Society often depicts black men as entirely toxic and lacking any redeeming qualities, which is an exaggerated and distorted view.

02 — Responsibility & obstacles

As a black man living in America I can personally attest to the challenges and difficulties that come with trying to succeed in a country that seems determined to hinder our progress. Despite this, I take full responsibility for my decisions, but I cannot ignore the obstacles that are specifically designed to complicate our lives. This often leads us to resort to unconventional methods of creating revenue driven by desperation due to limited opportunities.

03 — The 1980s

During the 1980s, impoverished urban neighborhoods became hotspots for the distribution and consumption of crack cocaine. This trend was similar to past eras such as the moonshine and rum running years where illegal activities like bootlegging and smuggling were used to meet the high demands for alcohol in the United States.

04 — Speakeasies to crack houses

The operation of speakeasies was also prevalent. During this time bootleggers supplied speakeasies with illegal liquor, the modern day drug dealer set their business up the same way, supplying crack to crack houses. Bootleggers made considerable profit and some even went on to establish successful businesses that continue to thrive today, influential households got their start during this era as well.

05 — The trap that was set

While the average drug dealer was unaware of the temptation and the danger that had been strategically placed to ensnare him, making him the prime candidate for imprisonment or even death, and even if he manages to escape or evade these fates, he will still be labeled as some kind of monstrous being.

06 — However

After reading this book, if you still view the average drug dealer as a monster, I hope that I've provided some perspective on this matter, as I am convinced that…
